Mircea started piano around the age of eight. He had a teacher for a year, around nine, then a few lessons later on. The rest, especially through his teens, he did on his own. Around cégep, piano took most of his time: classical repertoire, composition, hours at the keyboard.

At university he first completed a bachelor's in economics and mathematics. In second year, with no teacher, he auditioned in classical piano at Université Laval. He was accepted part-time. By the time he finished the other degree, he had already taken piano, solfège, and analysis.

After graduating, a semester in Montreal: he worked with a pianist at McGill who already held a master's, then a second audition at Laval to come back and finish the bachelor's in classical piano performance. Once that program was done, he auditioned for the master's and got in on the first try. Only two students that year.

Teaching started with the bachelor's. A few schools, then his own students. Alongside that: choirs, arrangements, pieces written for the studio. When the pandemic hit, he left the schools and kept only the private studio. He has now been teaching for more than ten years running, to every age.

The studio is in Saint-Jean-Baptiste, in Québec City. All ages, from the first contact with the keyboard through university level.
